Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Touring the capital city Kigali

No African Safari is complete without visiting the capital cities of the respective African countries. When it comes to Rwanda Safri, Kigali has to have a place in your stoppage list. So, once your guide escorts you to the hotel and you get a sense of relief from the hours-long journey, do spend a leisure time in the streets of Kigali. Being the capital city of Rwanda, Kigali holds some of the best restaurants, pubs, and local shops to woo your eyes. However, you might not find anything scenic there but you have enough time to do that, right? So, on the first day of Uganda Safari, choose not to explore the parks but the capital city to get acquainted with the atmosphere and the locals.

Day 2:  A visit to the National Museum in Butare

After Kigali, Butare is the second city which holds a significant place in the existence of Rwanda. The city is also known as the intellectual capital of Rwanda. Visiting Butare will be a good choice for those who are seeking information about the country. There are several centers of information that you will find in The Ethnographic Museum, formerly the National Museum, to add more chunks of knowledge to your traveler's brain. Visit the museum and try to know what the city holds for travelers and why is it so famous. Spend a day in the museum followed by a lunch in the famous Butare restaurant. Return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 3: Soaking the scenic beauty of Kibuye town

By far, you have explored the two capital cities of Rwanda but the actual charm that this country holds is untouched and unseen. To start discovering the same, step into the majestic Kibiye town which is located along the shores of Lake Kivu. The town is packed with an array of luxurious and highly nature-inspired hotels and restaurants which you can choose to stay overnight in. Visit the town to discover the majestic views of the river and the mountain slopes emerging out from the deep blue waters of the lake. Book a day from your Rwanda Safari to soak up the serene beauty of Kibuye Town. If staying overnight, do not miss to enjoy a candlelight dinner along the shores of the lake, a romantic day out for the couples.

Day 4-5: Enjoy Gorilla Trekking in the Lush Rwandan Forests

Wake up in the early morning because today is the day when you will spot your closest primates face to face. You will follow a marked trail along with your guide and then veer off onto tracks made by forest elephants. With every step, the rainforest will seem to get darker and denser as the trees wrap themselves around the trail and the guides slice your path using their machetes. Keep looking onto the branched and in no time you will spot a ball of black, but then you must clamber for another five minutes before the troop comes into full view. It can be challenging, but trekking through the thick virgin forest is a very authentic part of the experience, helping you appreciate just how remote you have to go when visiting the world's last mountain gorillas. As you approach the gorillas, you will feel the goosebumps rise as two blackback males will cause the ground to vibrate as they pound through the small forest clearing. Being into the home of gorillas is one of a kind feelings which only Rwanda can offer.

Day 6: Departure

Your 5-day Rwanda Safari is finally completing and today you will be saying Cheerios to the scenic beauty of this place. With lots of special memories in your heart, you will transfer to the airport for a happy return. Do not miss to enjoy your farewell breakfast in the hotel before the exit formalities. You will love the sweet gesture shown by the hotel staff.
