Seabourn Cruise Line began in the 1980s. A group of Norwegian investors, led by industrialist Atle Brynestad, founded the company in 1986. The company initially operated two small, intimate vessels, Seabourn Pride and Seabourn Spirit, which set sail in 1988. 1990, Seabourn Legend joined the fleet, followed by Seabourn Sun in 1998. In 1991, Carnival Corporation, one of the world's largest cruise companies, acquired a 25% stake in Seabourn, providing additional resources and support for further growth and development. Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn, and Seabourn Quest joined the fleet between 2009 and 2011, bringing new levels of luxury, innovation, and sophistication. In 2016, Seabourn unveiled its newest and most luxurious ship, Seabourn Encore, marking a new chapter in its history.
