Travel has come to a complete breakdown due to the novel coronavirus. While many people affirm not to travel until everything comes back to normal, there is another group of people who strongly want to set their bags rolling.

As the world struggles to control the pandemic, thankfully, a few countries have emerged free from the virus. Speaking of tourism, these countries are slowly unlocking their borders and welcoming international tourism.

  1. New Zealand:

Thanks to Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, for her timely measures to enforce lockdown. For about seven weeks, the people of the country cooperated with the restrictions put in force. With about 1,500 cases and 22 deaths, it reported that the last batch of patients recovered successfully and it is an officially corona-free country now.

At present, the city is free from coronavirus after every patient recovers. Pope Francis addressed the people stating his gratitude for the healthcare workers who toiled day and hard. 

Vatican city-state is the smallest but offers a plethora of destinations for tourists. It is famous for two things: churches and art. 

The St. Peter’s Basilica is the adorning jewel of the city. St. Peter is buried here. The structure of the church dates back to the 18th century. It upholds art as much as it treasures spirituality. In the entrance, tourists will be amazed to see Bernini’s artwork of Constantine. The works of other renowned artists include Michelangelo, Borromini, Giotto, and Bernini. Needless to say, it is a must-visit destination in every Vatican vacation package

The Sistine Chapel is another famous landmark in the Vatican. It is well-known in the world for its otherworldly and realistic frescoes. The new successor of the Pope is elected here. The ceilings are covered by works of Michelangelo. Artists such as Signorelli, Roselli, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, and Pinturicchio also lent their hands in making this pristine chapel.

  1. Tanzania:

The President of Tanzania, John Magufuli, declared that the country has not reported COVID-19 cases since the last six weeks. So tourists who wish to explore this exotic African country can add it to their vacation package.

Tanzania is rich in natural parks and geographical features. Mount Kilimanjaro is the most famous landmark in the country. Tourists who crave some exciting wildlife adventures and safaris need to visit this destination at least once! 

Zanzibar is preferred by tourists for its iconic beaches. With boats lining the shore, and white sand under the feet, the town allures people with its calm vibe. The Arabian influence is strong in this town. Tourists need to visit Stone Town to relax in its cool townhouses.

The level 8 in Dar es Salaam is revered for its vibrant nightlife and parties. Serengeti National Park, Pemba Island, National Museum of Tanzania, Olduvai gorge, and Selous Game Reserve are other famous locations in Tanzania.

  1. East Timor:

Timor Leste is one of the unexplored and unknown countries in the world. Its 24th COVID-19 infected patient was the last one for weeks. After that, no cases were reported. Thankfully, the country escaped the pandemic with a zero death-rate.

The country is the youngest to attain independence in the world. Rich in Indonesian and Portuguese influences, the destinations in this country are yet to be exposed to people. People are friendly and welcoming, and if you are looking to enjoy some Mexican vibe and tropical adventures, head to East Timor.
