Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Thimphu

Meet your private guide at Thimphu airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. Set off with your guide on an introductory tour of the city. Stroll around the city's lanes and soak in the city's brilliant vibe, culture, and architecture. Mingle with the locals and learn more about their culture, customs, and local legends. Following that, enjoy a lavish dinner at a premium restaurant before retiring to your resort for the night.

Day 2:Explore Punakha

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle to Punakha. It will take your vehicle around one hour and 30 minutes to climb to the upper portion of the hills. Get to see the perfectly beautiful panorama of the Himalayas of Bhutan. View one wonderful stupa that has one big and 107 small chortens. One of the most overwhelming traditions of Bhutan is the prayer flags, which are believed to be the symbols of prosperity, happiness, and long life. See them all floundering around the city. Then, discover the Punakha Dzong, a 1637 built edifice, the most stunning building in the country.

Day 3: Roaming in Phobjikha Valley

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle for around two and a half hours to the Phobjikha Valley. It's a gigantic glacial valley forming a U-shape. Upon reaching, start your exploration from the Gangtey monastery. Of all the four key Tibetan Buddhism schools, this one is the oldest. Marvel at the large painting of Hayagriva at the entrance. Hayagriva is a horse-headed deity belonging to both Hinduism and Buddhism. Then, view the stunning Black Necked Crane, one of the rarest birds on the planet.

Day 4: Venture Into Thimphu

Today, have an early breakfast before your guide drives you by a distance of around 135 km from Phobjikha to Thimpu. Be transferred to your hotel upon reaching. Then,  wander around and visit the handicraft emporiums. Browse through some of the souvenirs and artifacts present there. Then, head towards the Tashichho Dzong in the evening, the Government department's hub. This edifice was rebuilt in 1961-62, and the key focus of this place is the two-story statue of Buddha depicting its 12 stages. Peek at the column of Kanju and Tenju, the scripts of Buddha.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Thimphu

Today, start off with the School of Arts and Crafts. In the vicinity of it is the Folk Heritage Museum, which is a cornucopia of antiques. After that, move towards the National Library, which houses a collection of photographs, records, and letters. You can also find a good collection of manuscripts and books, most of which are sacred. After this, explore the mini zoo present here. Takins are preserved here in great numbers. These are the national animals of Bhutan. There's also a hand-made paper manufacturing factory to be explored.

Day 6: Journey up to Paro

Today, your guide will drive you in a private vehicle for an hour to reach Paro from Thimphu and transfer you to your luxurious hotel room. Then, embark on your journey towards Bhutan's National Museum, a Dzong and watchtower built in 1641. It's the perfect place to see the beautiful collection of artifacts and art here. After that, visit Drugyel Dzong, another historically important fortress waiting to be explored.

Day 7: Discover Paro

Today, have an early breakfast before your guide drives you in a private vehicle for a round trip that will take around five hours to complete. After reaching, discover the stunning Taktsang monastery, which is about 800 meters above the Paro valley. It is also known as the 'tiger's nest and is considered one of Bhutan's most sought-after tourist attractions. Enjoy a steady climb along the way. Also, a horse ride is available for those unable to climb up the monastery on foot. Learn about a local legend that explains that Guru Padmasambhava, the great Tantric master, flew here all the way from Tibet to propagate his teachings. Return to your hotel for the night.

Day 8: Departure

Today, your private guide will transfer you to the airport for your international departure.
