Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Beijing and transfer to Lijiang

On the first day of the trip, the visitors will mostly indulge in hotel transfer. You will meet your travel agent when you get down at Beijing or Shanghai Airports. Here the agent will take you to the hotel and will be back to get to Lijiang from where the trip will start. At Lijiang, you will find a pre-booked hotel where you can spend the rest of the day.

Day 2: Lijiang— Visit the Baisha Village and Attend a Renowned Cultural Show

The day 2 of the trip will be one of the busiest days as you visit the nearest village of Baisha. Here you will meet a Naxi family. You will love the incredible murals in the walls of the town’s temples which are more than 100 years old. It will give an insight into the rich heritage of the village. You will then head to the Yufeng Tibetan Monastery which is situated on the foothills of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is home to the famous Camellia tree which has stood millennia here and a century older than the temple itself. An incredible fusion of two separate trees indelibly entwined like life-long lovers, this remarkable specimen is known for its vibrant pink and white flowers, casting a crimson hue when the sun slices through their beautiful blossoms.

Next, you will ride a cable car through the spectral air and onto the summit of Yulong Snow Mountain and the Yak Meadow which is situated more than two-and-a-half miles above the plains. Gaze at the beautiful scenery below the Southern Chinese countryside as you come to the lower altitudes to take in an evening show called ‘Impression Lijiang’. The show has been made and aimed at celebrating the lifestyles and traditions of the Naxi, Yi and Bai communities and has been choreographed by the famous Zhang Yimou. Following the show, dine at Mishi Mishi which is regarded as the best restaurants in Lijiang as you return to your hotels.

Day 3: Lijiang to Shangri-La— Journey to this Legendary Region

On the third day, you will leave Lijiang for Shangri La. The road route will have some of the best sceneries of foothill and lower peaks of Himalayas. You will find some plunging gorges and snow-capped peaks till you reach Shangri-La County. The journey will be a little tiring due to the valley and its customary welcome but you will remember it throughout your life. Your senses will seem to fail as you pass the tumbling slopes of the Tiger Leaping Gorge, a canyon cut from a tributary of the Yangtze River that plummets more than ten thousand feet from the peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountains to the roiling river bed below.

Once you reach Shangri La, you will be accommodated at the secluded and scenic setting at the Banyan Tree Ringha where the relocated and refurbished Tibetan Farmhouse create a complex which is romantic and scenic. Day 4: Shangri-La— Visit Yunnan’s Largest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery

The day 4 of the tour will be filled with getting to know the Tibetan and ancient Chinese cultures. Spend some time in the morning to meditate on the voyage that has brought you here, these fecund meadows and vibrant valleys that are synonymous with heaven on Earth, a modern-day utopia where Tibetans, Naxis, Lisus, Bais, Huis, and many other ethnicities work, play, live and love in harmony. Come out to see some of the best Tibetan Architectures which showcases the Buddhism insights into architecture. Check out the Songzanlin Monastery which used to be the seat of the Fifth Dalai Lama in the 17th Century. It is the largest Tibetan Buddhism Monastery in the Yunnan Province and most important in Southwest China. The massive 25-feet tall statue of Buddha will enchant you to the deepest of the feeling of spiritualism.

Then walk to the old town of Dukezong and sample the wares of the Various Tibetan artisans and their stalls in the ancient silk routes. Then it’s on to Bitahai Lake in Pudacuo National Park, where you can traipse through high meadows and observe the diverse collection of wildflowers that gently give way to the meanderings of yaks.

Day 5: Shangri-La to Shanghai— Back to Modern China

On the fifth day of the tour, you will leave the beautiful town of Southwest China and get onto the greatest cities of Shanghai. It is the largest city of China and certainly the center of the Chinese economic development. Here you will be transferred to the magnificent Pudong Shangri-La Shanghai which is an escape from the fast pace of urban China. Spend the rest of your day exploring this iconic city, taking in the sights of Old Town Shanghai, where the 19th-century splendor of this famous port is still evident, shopping at Xujiahui or on Nanjing Road, or simply walking the river’s shore past the colonial buildings that line The Bund. Dinner tonight is on your own, with the entire city offering a panoply of options.

Day 6: Departure from Shanghai to Beijing and then Assisted transfers
