The Three days amazing trips to Southern Italy will start from your arrival in Rome and from there you will be traveling to Naples, Pompeii, and Amalfi. Check out the day-wise itinerary here –
Day 1: Arrival in Rome and Naples to Visit
Rome is a small beautiful town in the center of Italy where you will be arriving today. It is here that you will be meeting your luxury local guide who will take you to the hotel for refreshments and some breakfast. After having a meal, you will be traveling to Naples, a place which is long known for its beautiful countryside. The city of Naples is situated near the Bay of Naples while Mount Vesuvius, a pretty active volcanoes guard the city against the north. The volcano erupted massively in 79AD to virtually destroy the ancient city of Pompeii. The city dates back to Second Century BC and has some important architectural and cultural centers. The city has some famous destinations to which your tour guide will be taking you to throughout the day. You will start by visiting Vomero Hill to see the Bay of Naples around which the city is situated. From this area, you can also view the volcanic area of the Phlegrean Fields from where you can take lots of pictures. You can spend some time here to gaze around the place which is heavily toured. You can also choose to visit City’s Cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro which is filled with frescoes. Some other important destinations that you can visit are the Lavish Royal Palace and the Castel Nuovo which was built in the thirteenth century. Rest the night here in Naples.
Day 2: Visiting Pompeii
Naples is a beautiful site to spend the night and in the morning after some meal, you will be heading to another beautiful location, the neighboring city of Pompeii. The city braved some of the tough times when Mount Vesuvius erupted back in 79 AD to cover Pompeii along with Herculaneum under four to six meters of Volcanic ash and pumice. It is here that you can have some the Neapolitan Pizza. This town has a lot to tell when you visit this ancient Roman City and look into the ancient houses, bakeries, and shops that still have the same glory. Your Italy tour guide will take you to various places during the day such as Villa of the Mysteries, Houses of the Faun, Temple of Apollo, Amphitheatre of Pompeii, and many such places. You can choose to spend the night here or to spend the night at Amalfi – the next destination.
Day 3: Touring Amalfi and Departure from Rome
The last day of the tour is here and today you will be visiting Amalfi. The town has a dramatic natural setting and is situated below the steep cliffs on the Southwest Coast of Italy. The place holds importance in Italian history as this town was once a powerful maritime republic in the 9th and 11th century AD. The city is filled with some beautiful locations and you will be surprised by their varieties. You can visit Arab Norman Sant Andrea Cathedral which is located right at the heart of the town and carries a Byzantine Façade. Another beautiful location is the Museo Arsenale Amalfi which is a medieval shipyard that has been turned into an exhibition center. Your Italy local guide will take you for a swim in the Gulf of Salerno where you can have a quiet time for yourself. You can spend more time at the Coast, Cathedrals and Cloister del Paradiso which is a beautiful places to spend some time.
After finishing the visit part, you can get into the mood for shopping at the local market is filled with lots of local crafts and art products that you can buy as a souvenir to take back home. The town is also famous for its shopping centers that carry more of the local products. Have a traditional Italian dinner in the evening before flying back to Rome to get on with the tour or for departure-related preparations.
