Day 1: Arrival in Sibiu

Sibiu is the most charming and romantic city of Romania. Get ready to be fascinated by the wonderful baroque architecture, the spectacular squares, and the scenic colored houses.

• Before you get to Cluj, stop in Alba Iulia. The union of Transylvania with Romania was declared in Alba Iulia in the year 1918. The city is known as the spiritual capital of Romania. Find the National Union Museum and Union Hall inside the remarkable Alba Iulia citadel which is the largest in the country. This citadel which is having a  star-shape was erected by the Austrians in the 18th century and possess some prominent beautiful sculpted gates. Reach here before noon and watch the stunning show of the guard change.

• The last stop before reaching Cluj, the Turda Salt Mine is considered the ‘Coolest Underground Place on Earth‘. The salt mine is a distinctive highlight at 120 meters underground and features an amphitheater hosting concerts, a Ferris wheel, and several playgrounds.

• Cluj Napoca, the European Youth Capital in 2015,  is a vibrant city and also the art capital of the country which is brimming with art galleries. A stroll in the city center will reveal an unconventional blend of architectural styles, from the impressive oriental-style of the Orthodox Cathedral to the monumental Gothic church of Saint Michael and the Art Nouveau building of the theatre and opera. Day 3: Exploring Maramures

Today is dedicated entirely to Maramure? - a region where traditions have dominated technology.

• The village of S?pân?a will be your first stop as you witness its extraordinary Merry Cemetery. This unusual cemetery which is the creation of the local folk artist Stan Ioan P?tra? displays unparalleled painted crosses that feature satirical epitaphs revealing messages from the deceased to the living.

• In Bârsana, witness the wooden heritage of the region at the Bârsana Monastery. Constructed following the conventional architecture of the huge wooden churches of Maramure?, it exhibits a particular beauty. The city is also home to the artisan Teodor Bârsan, who is known for carving out extraordinary wooden gates and objects, carrying on the local heritage.

Day 4: Visiting Vorone?

Today, you’ll be heading east towards Bucovina and the village of Vorone?. While the region is popular for its UNESCO World Heritage and painted churches, the one in Vorone? is really beautiful. The Vorone? church which is known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the East’ is covered in splendid frescoes that depict religious themes inspired by local beliefs and Byzantine art. You can find similar churches in the villages of Humor, Moldovi?a, and Sucevi?a. Visit the Painted Eggs Museum in Moldovita where the exquisite work of Lucia Condrea is displayed.

Day 5-6: Heading to Piatra Neam?, Bicaz Gorges and Finally to Sighi?oara

En route Sighi?oara, you will relish two beautiful places:

• The city of Piatra Neam? which is one of the most amazing cities of the Moldova region. Visit the Cucuteni Culture Museum and discover the most significant Neolithic collection of southeastern Europe. In the Princely Church and Court, enjoy some spectacular views of the city and also the Bistrita Valley from the belfry.

• The Bicaz Gorges - Get ready to be surrounded by monumental stone walls in one of the most stunning gorges in Romania.

Day 8: Enjoying a peaceful day at Sinaia and exploring Bucharest

Your last day in Romania is dedicated completely to the mountain resort of Sinaia and also to Romania’s beautiful capital.
