11-Day Itinerary to Relish Argentine Wine In Latin America

Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires

Welcome to Buenos Aires. Your private guide will transfer you from the airport to a luxurious hotel. Start exploring Buenos Aires, referred to as the Paris of South America. Visit the buildings, which give the essence of Europe. Explore the quirky San Telmo and Recoleta neighborhoods. You will walk through the cobbled streets lined with charming outdoor cafes. Day 3: Visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls

This morning, catch a domestic flight with your guide to Puerto Iguazu. The little, welcoming town is the gateway to the marvelous Iguazu Falls, the gem of Latin American tourism. 

Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will transfer you to the Brazillian side of the iconic Iguazu Falls. Enjoy a half-day tour of the numerous cascades, absorbing their beauty from different standpoints.

Day 4: Visit the Argentine Side of Iguazu Falls

Today, explore the Argentine side of Iguazu fall. Start off with a trip to the Iguazu National Park after breakfast and enjoy panoramic views of this natural wonder. 

Begin your guided tour around the park and come by a point on an offbeat path to get the best view of the falls. To best explore the area surrounding the waterfall, hike both the lower and upper beds, then start a trip to the Devils Throat, the largest cascade of the falls. Enjoy an Ecological Train ride and make a return journey toward your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Transfer from Iguazu Falls to Mendoza

Today, take a flight with your private guide to the far-famed winery region, Mendoza. Red wine is made from Malbec grapes, which are native to the area. Besides vineyards, explore the magnificent prospects of Mendoza, like the Andes Mountains, with its tallest peak, Aconcagua. Here you can indulge in adventures like rafting. 

Day 6: Revel in Mendoza wine tour

In the morning, begin a half-day guided tour of the Mendoza wine region. Its a small group tour with a bilingual wine expert. 

Explore two of the finest wineries in the area. Dig deeper into the wine-making process and revel in locally produced Cabernet and Malbec tasting.

Day 7: A full-day high-mountain tour in Mendoza

After breakfast, begin a full-day tour of the nearby Andes Mountains. Lay eyes on the highest peak in the Americas, Mount Aconcagua. 

Travel along the Mendoza River. View the grand mountain range and the Potrerillos Dam, a colossal structure built to generate electricity. You will then explore the wonderful valley of Cacheuta. Your next stop is Uspallata, a pre-Hispanic establishment of aboriginal people called the Huarpes and the southernmost point of the Inca Empire at the peak of its power.

Pass by the villages of Polvareda, Picheuta, and Punta de Vacas. Proceed to Puente del Inca, where the Las Cuevas River has created a natural arch and many hot springs. On your way, admire the grandeur of Mount Aconcagua, which measures 6959m.

Reach the customs office and travel a few more miles to arrive at the Chile-Argentina border. Here is the Las Cuevas Village, 3.200m above sea level. From this village, you can experience hiking to Quebrada del Durazno, at the base of Mount Aconcagua, in the summer. You will be given a launch box at noon. Travel back to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 8: Travel from Mendoza to Bariloche

Your guide will set you up for a morning flight to Bariloche. If the sky is clear, take in the views of blue Nahuel Huapi Lake and lush greenery at the foot of white Andean peaks before you land. Follow your guide from Bariloches airport to your luxurious hotel. Enjoy some leisure time. Head out to discover the town square, savor delicious local chocolates, and stroll around the lake.

Day 9: Enjoy the spectacular natural scenes in the Bariloche tour

Start the day by visiting Nahuel Huapi Lake and the surrounding vegetation. Navigate Brazo Tristeza in the southwestern part of the lake. On reaching the lakes end, start hiking through the forest of Coihue and Alerce trees. Move upward to meet a group of waterfalls on the Frey River, a place of exceptional beauty. Then, enjoy your return journey.

Day 10: Travel from Bariloche to Buenos Aires
