Today you will reach the international airport just outside of Belize City. Continue further on your connecting Tropic Air domestic puddle-jumper flight to laid-back Caye Caulker. Keep your cameras ready to click the stunning views. After you drop off your luggage at the hotel, head out for a snorkel trip to Caye Caulker Marine Reserve, and then watch the sunset at The Split and Lazy Lizard Bar, which are the island’s social headquarters. Enjoy dinner alfresco at Habaneros. Reach your hotel and relax on the outdoor veranda. You can also venture the sandy streets up to I&I Reggae Bar to catch a drink on the rooftop and some island tunes.
Today morning, you’ll make your way on a half-day morning snorkel tour to Caye Caulker’s Shark Ray Alley before you hop over to San Pedro. Enjoy Swimming and snorkeling alongside a dozen nurse sharks and stingrays, among various other marine life, and admire coral gardens. Get back on the island, take your things and catch an early afternoon water taxi to bustling San Pedro. Spend the rest of the day wandering around San Pedro Town, with plenty of opportunities to eat, shop, bar hop, swim, and be happy. End the night with some drinks at the beachfront Señor Marlin’s Sports Bar. In case you are a night owl, you can continue on to Jaguar’s Temple Nightclub.
Take the first water taxi to Belize City. Put your bags at the water taxi terminal while you explore the Fort George area, the Swing Bridge, and the Museum of Belize for an hour or so. Later, you’ll be transferred to the Cayo District. As you traverse along the George Price Highway, go to The Belize Zoo or stop for a hike at Guanacaste National Park, near Belmopan.
As you arrive in downtown San Ignacio, settle down into your guesthouse with stunning views and access to nearby ruins. Spend the evening wandering the mellow town, grabbing some amazing food at Crave House of Flavors on West Street.
Today morning, wake up early and visit the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich. You can also opt instead for a canoe trip up the Macal River. Depending on the water level, you can head out to duPlooy’s Jungle Lodge and have a tour of the Belize Botanic Gardens. In case you feel more adventurous, you can spend the day on an exhilarating cave trip to Actun Tunichil Muknal in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve.
This morning, you’ll be driven down the Hummingbird Highway to Dangriga. You can make for an afternoon tour to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary - hike through the rainforest past fresh jaguar tracks and have a chilling time in waterfalls under a green canopy. Later in the night, enjoy a dinner back in Dangriga at Pelican Beach Resort and make your way to town for cold beers under a thatch cabana at Wadani Shed.
Island lovers can also hop on a boat and transfer to nearby Tobacco Caye or South Water Caye for snorkeling and diving along the pristine southern barrier reef and some peaceful beach time. These islands are oh-so-splendid and romantic.
In case you feel like extending your stay here, then from Dangriga, you can catch the bus down to Hopkins and soak in some Garifuna culture, enjoy fine dining and go beachcombing. Take a drumming lesson at Lebeha Drumming Center or Garifuna cooking class at Palmento Grove Lodge. Later, enjoy a traditional Garifuna meal at Laruni Hati Beyabu Diner.
