Day 1: Arrival in Havana

Your Cuba journey will begin today as you board an international flight to Havana. Your private guide will greet you at the airport and escorts you to your hotel.

Stay for a day in Havana to see some of the highlights of the city and also to get into the Cuban way of life.

Day 2: Exploring Havana

Havana is one city that needs to be explored on foot.  Wander around the old town, admiring the crumbling buildings that are still beautiful in spite of their dilapidated state.  Listen to a group of musicians singing, find a spot to sit and watch the world go by.

As you step outside of Old Havana, you’ll find that the Plaza de la Revolución has a cool mural of Che Guevara. Take a stroll around Centro Havana, which has more Cuban life than you can shake a stick out.  It feels a world away from the old town, but you’ll surely love seeing people go about their lives, undisturbed about the visitors wandering around. The Capitol Building looks striking from the outside, you can take a tour inside as well.  There are tobacco factories in Havana, where you can visit to see how Cuban cigars are made. The Callejón de Hamel is also worth a visit to see some funky street art, and also impromptu live music sessions.

There are some excellent museums in the city, you can check out the Museo de la Ciudad, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes for art, or the Museo de la Revolución.

Day 3-4: Heading to Cienfuegos

Cienfuegos is a city in Cuba which is underrated, though people still look out for going to Cienfuegos.  There isn’t much to do in the city itself, however, the main square is worth a glance, and there is also a beautiful sunset from Punta Gorda over the ocean. The real highlight of Cienfuegos is what there is to do in the area encircling the town.  Laguna Guanaroca is a beautiful, peaceful lake where you can have a boat trip to witness flamingos and other wildlife on the lake. After Laguna Guanaroca you could head out to El Castillo, an interesting fort built in order to protect the city from pirates in the bay.  The following day, another trip is to El Nicho, which is an array of marvelous waterfalls and natural pools to swim in!

From Cienfuegos, you can also make your way for a day trip to Santa Clara to see the Che Guevara memorial.

Day 5-6: Relish the Beauty of Trinidad

Today, you’ll be leaving Havana in the morning to travel to Trinidad. Trinidad is one of the best places to experience in Cuba as it is simply beautiful! Less hectic than Havana and also much smaller, Trinidad is very famous with tourists, so it can get a little busy, but still manages to retain its small-town charm.

First of all, wander around this gorgeous town and admire the vibrant buildings. It is recommended for you to have a great scenic walk around Trinidad and take the best photographs. With the wonderful architecture and Cuban life continuing around you, you’ll have no trouble discovering some fab Instagram spots.  The Belltower in the Municipal History Museum which is situated close to the main square has the best views of Trinidad.

The nightlife in Trinidad is lively, and crowds gather around the Casa de la Musica which boasts live performances at the weekend. There are a number of day tours from Trinidad too, the most famous being a beach day at Playa Ancon. Another famous excursion from Trinidad is a horse-back riding tour to a waterfall, and along the way, a fun stop at a cigar and coffee hut.

Day 7: Visiting Viñales

Viñales is one of the most amazing places in Cuba.  It is a small town, surrounded by tobacco fields and unique rock formations known as mogotes.

Viñales would prove to be a welcome respite for you from the hectic cities. Get close to nature, climbing, hiking, and horseback riding to your heart’s content. A sunset walking tour is just magical here!

Hike to Los Aquaticos, which is a small community of people who believe in the healing power of water. Enjoy the wonderful views of the valley, and learn about the culture of Los Aquaticos. You can also go for cycling around Viñales to see the Mural de la Prehistoria, a giant colorful painting on the side of a mogote.  In case you are a rock climber, Viñales is the best place in Cuba to climb.

If you feel like having some beach time before returning, then you can take a day tour to one of the Cayos on the coast, Cayo Jutías or Cayo Levisa.
