Day 1 - Arrive in Auckland

After your tour, continue your journey south to Rotorua (approximately 50 miles away), where you will have dinner and spend the night at a premium resort.

Day 3 - Rotorua - Tongariro National Park

Your private guide will drive you south from Rotorua via Lake Taupo to the Tongariro National Park (approximately 120 miles) to check into your hotel for the night, Bayview Chateau Tongariro in Whakapapa village. Experience the cuisine from the best restaurants and bars with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and Mount Ngauruhoe. In the evening, go hiking and mountain biking. End your night by watching a movie at the Chateau Cinema.

Day 4 - Tongariro National Park - Wellington

Leave Tongariro National Park and drive further south (approximately 200 miles) to Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. Day 5 - Wellington - Nelson

In the morning, hop on the ferry with your private guide across Cook Strait to Picton, where youll board another car and be driven to the Nelson region (approximately 70 miles). Upon arrival in Richmond, check in at your hotel. Visit nearby boutique wineries or stroll along art trails. In the evening, visit Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith, the family jewelry workshop that made One Ring for the film The Lord of the Rings. Also, check out the original rings from the movie on display.

Day 6 - Half-Day Jet-Boating Adventure in Wanaka

Set off for a jet-boating adventure in the wilderness, absorbed in the regions spectacular scenery. Youll travel past towering mountains, rushing waterfalls, and hidden Lord of the Rings film locations. Enjoy the splendor of this new nature site. Youll get through the rushing freshwater river, fed by melted ice from the nearby glaciers.

Day 7 - Safari of the Scenes Wakatipu Basin Tour in Queenstown

Visit the heart of the Lord of the Rings with a full-day adventure to the scenes on a 4X4. This extensive guided tour takes you deep into New Zealands countryside, the epitome of the sublime Middle Earth scenery of Tolkiens imagination. Day 8 - Queenstown - Mount Cook

You will have a two and helicopter tour that includes at least one landing at an isolated location. From Queenstown, your private guide will drive you (approx. 160 miles) to the alpine village of Mount Cook, located within Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, a World Heritage area. Surrounded by the splendor of the Southern Alps, this tranquil setting will provide a restful nights sleep. Check into your premium hotel with a stunning view of Mount Cook.

Day 9 - Mount Cook - Christchurch
