Today you begin your Sri Lanka journey by boarding your international flight to Colombo.
Upon arrival in Colombo, you're met by your private guide and transferred to your hotel located near the airport.
This morning, get ready to be driven up to the Tea Country. This picturesque journey usually takes around 5 hours, as you witness the splendid scenery change as you ascend into the verdant hills. Your guide will suggest places to stop for refreshments.
We recommend that you begin early today ahead of your private excursion. Your private guide will drive you to Horton Plains National Park. The plains here form an oscillating plateau over 6,561 ft high, covered in wild grassland, waterfalls and hazy lakes. Wander to the end of the plateau, famous as World's End, which on a clear day offers some of the best views in Sri Lanka. Later in the afternoon, make your way to a working tea estate accompanied by your private guide. Visiting a tea factory is an interesting way to learn about how tea is processed and produced.
From Nuwara Eliya, you’ll be driven down to Yala National Park today with your private guide. You have a couple of nights to maximize your chances of witnessing the leopard as well as sloth bear of the area. It is going to be a long drive but there's plenty to see on the way and you can ask your guide to stop for any suitable photo opportunities.
Today morning, get ready to enjoy private safaris into Yala National Park. You are likely to witness wild boar, spotted deer and the wild elephant in addition to a vast variety of birds. In case you happen to be really lucky, you may also spot sloth bear and leopard. Know that Yala has the highest density of leopard in Asia, with an average of one leopard per square kilometer.
Today, you’ll traverse to Uda Walawe with your private guide which takes a couple of hours. On reaching, make your way straight to the Elephant Transit Centre where the baby elephants shove their way to the gate at feeding times, some cheeky ones even pushing back into the queue for a second feeding.
Today, you’ll enjoy two private game drives in the Uda Walawe National Park, where the bird and animal sightings vary to your Yala experience. Uda Walawe National Park is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to witness elephants, with around 500 taking residence in the park. Some of the other animals that you may spot include spotted deer, wild buffalo, sambar deer, crocodiles, and water monitors.
Relish another private game drive today before you continue on your voyage to the Sinharaja Biosphere. It is located in the country's wet zone and is the last major unperturbed area of rainforest in the country. This is an amazing place to explore as there are more than 150 species of birds to spot as well as other fascinating animals to see.
Embark on a private guided tour of the rainforest this morning accompanied by a local tracker. Explore the reserve while the tracker assists you to witness what wildlife inhabits the area, as well as showing you various kinds of plants and trees.
