Day 1: Uluwatu Temple

The word Uluwatu means something of divine origin and this truely stands in the scenario of this temple. It is one of the six pillars of spirituality in Bali. A unique architecture located at the 70 meters above sea level is surely going to take your breath away. It is advisable to stay till sunset here as the traditional Balinese Kecak dance is performed here every day after the sunset and it is worth stopping for.

Day 2: Ulun Danu Beratan Temple

Dedicated to the goddess of the lake this Hindu temple opens at 8 am and you can stay here till 6 pm. If you visit here at the time of rains or when the water is not dried up, you can see the temple floating. It is one of the unique temples in Bali and your vacation is incomplete without having visited Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.

Day 3: Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot means "land-sea", standing true to its name this temple is built on a huge off-shore rock that is naturally shaped from the strength of the tides. It is an architecture from the 16th century and was built by Dang Hyang Nirartha who loved the location and wanted to have a shrine here. Tanah Lot temple is dedicated to the god of the sea and his powers.

Day 4: Goa Gajah

This architecture belongs to the 9th century and is also known as elephant caves. It is one of the oldest Hindu temples located in Bali with images of Shiva and Ganesha engraved on the rocks. The engravings of Buddhists monk can also be found here. It also enjoys the status of being a UNESCO world heritage site. It is also believed that this was built for mediations and hence, both Buddhist monk's symbols and lord Shiva is built here.

Day 5: Tirta Empul Temple

Located in the village of Manukaya, this Hindu temple was built by Lord Indra. This is also known as The Holy Spring Water temple and travelers from across the world ensure to visit this site. It is said that the water pool here is very spiritual and blessed. Most of the people visit here for spiritual purification. 

Day 6: Taman Saraswati Temple

The most attractive feature of this location is the lotus pond which is now a tourist attraction. It is amazing to know that this mesmerizing temple was built by a soulful Ubud artist named Gust Nyoman Lempad. It is dedicated to goddess Saraswati and a celebration takes place every 210 days. If you are lucky enough you can be a part of the same.

Day 7: Besakih Temple

It is locally known as Pura Agung Besakih temple and is located in east Bali. It claims to be the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia. Besakih is the 'mother" temple of Bali and is situated 1000m above the sea level. This temple is open 24hrs but for tourists and for sightseeing it closes at 5 pm.

Day 8: Lempuyang Temple

You can experience a mix of seven centuries built here and the gates are known as ' The Gates of Heaven'. It is open 24hrs for worship and for sightseeing only from 7 AM to 5 PM. You can experience a breathtaking sunset if you visit here in the evening and the view absolutely awe-struck. There are no entry fees however, the temple takes donations.

Day 9: Gunung Kawi Temple

Situated in Ubud it is an 11th century built architecture. It is one of the largest and ancient Bali temples. It is dedicated to the King Anak Wungsu and his favorite queens. You can experience amazing architectural work.

Day 10: Ling Gwan Kiong

It is a beautifully build Chinese architecture located in Singaraja. The wooden gates and walls are painted with Chinese deities and were built in 1873. There are no entry fees and the architecture speaks of the colorful past of the town. You can visit it anytime between 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Day 11: Petitenget Temple

It is a place for worship for locals and is located in western Bali i.e Seminyak. According to local folklore, this temple protects them from the wrath of the sea. A visit of half an hour while you explore the city is advisable.

Day 12: Gunung Lebah Temple

The temple is from the 8th century and is located on a rock in Ubud. Explore the deeper meaning of your existence at this temple. You can worship here or stay here for 24 hrs. There is no specific timing as this temple speaks the story of the town and is one of the oldest temples. 

One thing to not forget on your Bali vacation packages is to carry a sarong which is mandatory nearly in every Bali temple. If you are not carrying one, you can rent it from the temple itself. Your spiritual vacation to Bali can lead you to a deeper meaning of life and your existence.
