Detailed Itinerary
Arrive in the historical capital city of Cairo to start the Egypt vacation package for nine days. After spending time in Cairo, you will be traveling to different parts of Egypt throughout the nine days to visit many sites of historical and cultural importance. Check out the itinerary for the nine days here –
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
On the first day of the tour, you will be arriving in the capital city of Cairo to start the Egypt vacation package. It is here that you will be met with our tour operator who would be taking you to the hotel where you can relax and have some meal. Depending upon the timing of the arrival, you can decide about the itinerary of the day and start visiting if you want to. If you arrive late, do come out in the evening to check out some local eateries and cafes which serve delicious foods. Stay here for the night.
Day 2: Visiting Pyramids, Sphinx, and tour of the Museum
The second day would be dedicated to the mysteries of history which surround Egypt. In the morning, you will be driving to Giza, on the outskirts of which the three great pyramids and the Sphinx are located. You will be guided for the day by the Egyptologist who would be answering all your queries with happiness. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is 500 feet high and 750 feet wide and is one of the most robust man-made structures in the world. You can get enchanted with the coming together of the two smaller pyramids of Khafre (Chephren) and Menkaure (Mycerinus). You can even try to climb down right inside the pyramids if you get permission. After exploring the history of these pyramids, you will head to see the Egyptian Museum where all the mysteries have been stored. This place is called home Tutankhamun exhibit as it contains a lot of information about him. In the evening, you will be transferred to the station for an overnight journey to Aswan where another exciting day awaits you.
Day 3: Arrival in Aswan and visiting Nubian Villages and Philae Temple
On the morning of the third day, you will be arriving in the serene atmosphere of Aswan where you will get transferred to the hotel which overlooks the Nile where you can see feluccas sailing to and fro. Aswan can be understood as a melting pot of both African and Middle Eastern cultures and you can be a testimony to that when you visit the busy marketplaces. This place is also part of the ancient Nubia region which consisted of the parts of present-day southern Egypt and northern Sudan around the Nile rivers. Today, you would be visiting a local Nubian village to see their beautiful houses, their simple way of life and to enjoy a traditional Nubian lunch as well. In the afternoon, you will be visiting the Temple of Philae which is on an island and is dedicated to the god Isis. This temple was reclaimed from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. In the evening, you are free to look around the spice markets of Aswan or to walk through the popular Corniche situated on the banks of the Nile. Another option of the camel ride would also be available through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeon's monastery. Stay here for the night.
Day 4: Visiting Abu Simbel and Nile Felucca Cruise
On day four, you will be visiting the temples built by Ramses II and this site of Abu Simbel has been called the UNESCO world heritage site. Once you visit the temples of Abu Simbel, you can get on board the traditional Nile Felucca after lunch and sail down the Nile River. enjoy the scenic setting of the Nile while you enjoy the sail.
Day 5: Visiting Edfu Temple and Luxor Temple
Today, you will be bidding adieu to the felucca crew and go on to visit the nearby temple at Edfu after which you will be continuing north to Luxor. The town of Luxor is an ancient one and was built around the ancient site of Thebes. It also consists of the largest concentration of ancient ruins in the Nile Valley. In the west of the Nile River, the City of the Dead is located and is filled with mortuary temples and rock-hewn tombs, whilst to the east lie the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. In the evening, you will get on a walking tour of the smaller Luxor Temple which is located in the middle of the town.
Day 6: Visiting Luxor, West bank tour and Karnak Temple
Today, you will be crossing the Nile rover early in the morning and begin to the tour of the west bank of Luxor which is also called the Home to the Valley of the Kings. The secrets of this place are still one of the most safely kept one and hence it is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. The tour will include a visit to the several pharaonic tombs as well as to Queen Hatchepsut, Deir-el-Medina (the Valley of the Craftsmen), and the huge Colossi of Memnon. After having lunch, you will be visiting the temple complex at Karnak which was once the religious center of Thebes and Upper Egypt. This place was also linked to Luxor by an extensive via a canal through which moved the sacred boats of the god Amun. Check out the sphinx-lined avenue, built by Ramesses II and come to the pylon entrance inside which you will find the huge courtyard and chapels dedicated to the gods Amun, Khous, and Mut. The remarkable Hypostyle Hall has 134 towering columns, each carved with scenes of gods and pharaohs, and hieroglyphic inscriptions adorn the walls.
Day 7: Visiting the Red Sea at Hurghada
The whole of the seventh day would be spent at the serene Hurghada where you will reach in the morning and drive straight to the Red Sea Resort of Hurghada. This place is famous in the world for its scuba diving spots, snorkeling and filled with marine life. You can also get to do many adventurous activities including windsurfing and kite surfing, glass bottomed submarines, quad biking, camel rides, and sea fishing trips. Once you do all these adventurous activities, you will be asked to transfer to the capital city of Cairo for the departure proceedings the next day.
Day 8: Transfer from Cairo
You will reach Cairo on the morning of the eighth day. Depending upon the timing of the departure, you can plan for the day. Your tour operator would help you get transferred to the airport for the departure procedure.
