Detailed Itinerary

Your Punta Cana vacation package will commence with an arrival in Punta Cana on the first day after which you will spend the next six days visiting different parts of the Dominican Republic taking on to more than 5 locations. After spending time in Punta Cana, you will be visiting Santo Domingo, Jarabacoa, Cabarete, Las Terrenas (two days) and come back to Punta Cana to end the trip. Check out the details of the trip here in the following itinerary – 

Day 1: Arrival in Punta Cana

On the first day of the trip, you will be arriving on the beautiful island destination of Punta Cana which is filled with joy. It is here that you will be picking up your rental car (with full insurance incl. zero deductible) which would be reserved for you by the tour operator. Your tour operator would help you transfer to the pre-booked hotel as well where you can take some meal and relax for some time after which you can come out and start exploring the place. Check out some places in the area such as some eateries, bars, and cafes. The evening would completely belong to you and you can enjoy it according to yourselves. Check-in here for the night to start visiting places tomorrow. 

Day 2: Visiting Santo Domingo

On the morning of the second day of the Punta Cana vacation package, you will be departing your hotel to Higuey to visit the famous the Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia which is a Roman Catholic Cathedral. Once you are done with your lunch, you can continue your journey to Santo Domingo which is the capital of the Dominican Republic and here, your hotel would be located right in the heart of the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. Your tour operator would take you to a two-hour guided walking tour through the "Zona Colonial" in the afternoon and then you will be following the footsteps of Columbus and visit the oldest cathedral in the New World, castles, ruins and the residence of Columbus’s son, Don Diego. Your visit will also include a small cigar factory where you can learn how a cigar is wrapped as well. In the evening, you can explore the Colonial town which has many bars, restaurants, and souvenir shopping opportunities. Stay in the colonial town for the night and then will be proceeding to Jarabacoa in the morning. 

Day 3: Visiting Jarabacoa

The third day of the tour would be completely dedicated to visiting Jarabacoa where you will be welcomed in the city and its luxurious areas to get some relief from the tropical climate. It is here that your tour operator would help you understand the further course of the trip and the requirements. The first destination for the day would be a drive to the heartland of the country where you will pass plantations of cocoa, rice, banana and coffee which are also cheap here. The roads of these mountainous areas are well-developed and from here you can reach the Rancho Baiguate in Jarabacoa, the city of eternal spring, which is situated at the base of the beautiful mountain settings. Once you reach there, the entire day is yours to enjoy at your disposal where you can explore Jarabacoa or relax near the premises of the Rancho Baiguate. In the evening, you will be having a traditional Dominican dinner at the residence and it is here that you will spend the night as well. 

Day 4: Visiting Cabarete

On the fourth day of the Punta Cana vacation package, you will be choosing from amongst various activities such as Canyoning in the "Río Baiguate", River rafting on the river "Río Yaque del Norte", Horseback ride or mountain bike to the Baiguate Waterfalls. Once you are done with these fun activities here, you will then get on the way to Sosua in the route of which you can stop at Puerto Plata which is an important touristic center with some major attractions here as well. Some of them are the cable car to the Montaña Isabel de Torres which a big rum distillery or the fortress San Felipe in the old town of Puerto Plata. On the evening of today, you will have dinner near the hotel or choose to go out and enjoy the nightlife of Sosua. Here, you can find many pubs, eateries, and cafes which deal with a variety of cuisines as well. Stay here for the night so that you can get out early and drive to Las Terrenas. 

Day 5: Visiting Las Terrenas

Once you have breakfast on the fifth day of the tour, you will travel towards Las Terrenas which is located on the Samana peninsula. This town is known for being a fishing town and having a vibrant cultural presence in the area as well. Apart from all the buzz on fishing, this town is also known for its beautiful beaches and shops, restaurants and bars as well. Check out some beautiful natural landscapes, numerous rivers, rice fields, and scenic settings when you drive to the north coast of the Dominican republic. In the afternoon, you will check into the hotel on the beach and spend some time here after which you can come out to explore some places as well. In the afternoon, you will be driving to Santa Barbara de Samaná or to El Limon where you will have the chance to see the mating season from the beginning of January until mid-March, to see humpback whales splash in the warm water of the Samaná Bay. Check-in on a boat and go to see these giant marine mammals in their natural environment along with many other sea creatures. Apart from that, there can be an arrangement of an optional horseback ride to the spectacular waterfall "El Limón", the excursion to which starts right behind the small town of El Limon. Here, the waterfall is around 50 meters high and therefore can be called one of the highest waterfalls on the Samaná peninsula. In the night, when you come back to the hotel, you can enjoy a traditional Dominican dinner in a nearby ranch while getting time to discover the vibrant cultural city of Las Terrenas. 

Day 6: Another day in Las Terrenas

After breakfast on the sixth day, your tour operator would help with exploring the surrounding area. Either you spend some time here or choose to head to the neighboring town of Las Galeras where you can find some beautiful beaches like Playa Rincon or Playa Fronton. On the way to Las Galeras, you can find some local stands and buy fresh coconuts from them for less money. Then, you can go for lunch here and do prefer the fish dishes here which are prepared using coconut milk which is the specialty of the region. In the evening, you will be travelling back to Punta Cana from where your departure would be prepared by the tour operator. 

Day 7: Departure from Punta Cana

Today is the last day of the tour and your tour operator would help you get transferred to the international airport of Punta Cana. It is time to bid adieu to one of the most beautiful experiences you have ever had.
